The Manchester United manager watched Marko Arnautovic play for Austria on Tuesday night, according to a report
Jose Mourinho was spotted at Austria’s 1-0 win against Russia on Tuesday night amid reports linking Manchester United with a move to sign Marko Arnautovic.
Vivaronews reported that Mourinho attended the international friendly to prompt further speculation suggesting the Red Devils could test West Ham’s resolve to keep the Austrian.
The West Ham forward was in action in the end of season friendly and Mourinho’s attendance fuelled specultion of an imminent Manchester United bid for the playmaker.
The 29-year-old scored 11 goals and made six assists in 31 appearances in the Premier League for the Hammers following his move from Stoke City in the 2017 summer transfer window.
Arnautovic previously worked with Mourinho at Serie A giants Inter Milan before his move to the Bundesliga with Werder Bremen.
The Austria international netted 26 goals in 145 appearances in all competitions during five seasons at Stoke City before his £25m switch to West Ham last summer.
Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last season to secure their best finish since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.
