Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Veratti in the summer transfer window, according to a report in Italy.

Italian media outlet Calciomercato.com, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that PSG are ready to sell the 25-year-old midfielder in the coming months.

The same article states that new PSG manager Thomas Tuchel met with Verratti for the first time but the meeting didn’t go as well as anticipated.

According to the same story, Tuchel has upset Verratti with his views on the Italy international’s current fitness ahead of the new Ligue 1 campaign.

The Sun goes on to quote the report that suggests Tuchel informed Verratti that he needed to lose weight and improve his overall fitness levels.

Verratti has been offered to FC Barcelona, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus in the current transfer window.

Manchester United are in the market to sign a new midfielder in the current transfer window after the Red Devils brought in Brazil international Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk to improve their options in the middle of the park.

The 20-time English champions finished in second place in the Premier League table last term, which amounts to their best top-flight campaign since 2013.
