The Red Devils have been linked with a surprise swoop to sign the Austria international to bolster their attacking options following a mixed second season under Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese head coach fuelled speculation linking Manchester United with an imminent swoop to sign the West Ham forward after he was spotted at Austria’s 1-0 win over Russia last week.
Arnautovic worked with Mourinho for a brief spell at Serie A outfit Inter Milan before the talented playmaker moved to the Bundesliga before he eventually ended up at Stoke City in 2012.
The Austrian star scored 11 times and made six assists in his first season as a West Ham player after the Hammers spent a club record £25m transfer fee on the 29-year-old forward.
However, Arnautovic is unaware of Manchester United’s interest in his signature, insisting that he has been in touch with the 20-time English champions.
“It’s nice to hear,” Arnautovic is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.
“I’ve not heard anything from my brother, my agent.
“You can keep asking this question, you’ll never hear the answer from me.”
Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last term.
The Red Devils haven’t won the Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.
