Marko Arnautovic responds to rumours linking him with a transfer to Man United this summer
Marko Arnautovic has admitted that he was “honoured” to hear that Jose Mourinho was in the stands to watch him in action for Austria last week amid talk of a move to Manchester United this summer.
Mourinho sparked reports that the Red Devils could be set to make a summer move to try and bring the West Ham United star to Old Trafford in the coming weeks after he was pictured attending Austria’s 1-0 win over Russia on Wednesday night.
The fact that Mourinho was watching the game inevitably prompted lots of speculation that Manchester United could be set to line up a move to sign the West Ham United star this summer.
And the player himself has admitted that he and his team-mates were delighted to hear that the Manchester United boss was in attendance on Wednesday night.
Speaking to Austrian newspaper Kurier, Arnautovic said: “It is a great honour for our entire team that a coach like Mourinho is watching us.”
Manchester United are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to build a team capable of winning the Premier League next season.
The Red Devils ended this campaign without a trophy and in second place in the top flight table.
