Journalist rates Marouane Fellaini’s chances of staying at Man United
Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth doesn't believe Marouane Fellaini will be at Man United next term
Marouane Fellaini is unlikely to be a Manchester United player next season, according to Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
The Belgium international is set to become a free agent in the summer as his contract at Old Trafford expires later this month.
Fellaini moved to Manchester United in a £27m deal from Everton under Sir Alex Ferguson’s successor David Moyes but the holding midfielder has struggled to impress at the Red Devils.
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has made no secret of the fact that he is a big fan of Fellaini due to the Belgian’s versatility in a variety of midfield positions and ability to help the Red Devils park the bus.
Fellaini, who is being linked with a move to Arsenal, has enjoyed some success at Old Trafford after winning the Europa League, the FA Cup and the League Cup during his spell in Manchester.
Sky Sports News reporter Sheth believes Fellaini is likely to leave Manchester United this summer after five mixed seasons at Old Trafford.
“You’d expect Fred to be in the team ahead of Fellaini,” Sheth told the Transfer Talk podcast. “It looks more likely Fellaini won’t be at Man United next season.”
Manchester United have signed Brazilian midfielder Fred in a £52m deal from Ukrainian Premier League champions Shakhtar Donetsk earlier in the summer transfer window to improve Mourinho’s options in the middle of the park.
