Jose Mourinho isn’t actively looking to sell Manchester United forward Anthony Martial this summer, Duncan Castles has claimed.

The Red Devils forward is rumoured to be facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford after struggling to hold down a regular starting spot.

Indeed, Mourinho has used the France international sparingly throughout his reign at Old Trafford despite Martial being a hit in 2015-16.

Louis van Gaal signed Martial in a £36m deal from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in the 2015 summer transfer window.

The former Lyon striker scored 19 times in all competitions in his debut campaign at the Manchester outfit despite being an inexperienced teenager.

Martial has been linked with a potential return to Ligue 1 with champions Paris Saint-Germain in the current transfer market.

Manchester United’s Premier League rivals Chelsea F and Tottenham Hotspur are also rumoured to be interested in Martial.

However, Sunday Times reporter Castles insisted that Mourinho isn’t looking to sell Martial depsite all the transfer speculation.

“Man United’s response is he is not for sale,” Castles told the Transfer Window podcast.

“They don’t want to sell him. Mourinho doesn’t actively want to sell him.”

Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last term to a place in the Champions League.
