The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a swoop to sign the Brazil international over the past 12 months or so.
Sandro was initially linked with Chelsea FC last summer but the Blues were unable to reach an agreement with the Serie A champions.
Manchester United have moved ahead of the west London side in the race to secure the highly-rated 26-year-old’s signature.
Sandro is viewed as one of the best left-backs in Europe following a return of nine goals in 114 games in all competitions over the past three seasons.
Jose Mourinho has used England international Luke Shaw sparingly at the Old Trafford outfit since the Portuguese head coach took over the reins in 2016.
Sky Sports Italia reporter Romano revealed that Manchester United have not made an offer to sign the South American forward.
Romano wrote on Twitter: “Man United have NOT made a bid for Alex Sandro at the moment! No talks… let’s see on next weeks 🔴 @SkySport #transfers #MUFC”
Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge of the Old Trafford outfit.
The Red Devils lost 1-0 to Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley after Eden Hazard’s winner from the penalty spot.
