Diogo Dalot has declared his intention to help Manchester United get back to winning ways following his move to Old Trafford this week.

The 19-year-old right-back has penned a long-term contract with the Red Devils after completing his move from FC Porto on Wednesday.

The Portuguese teenager had been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United in recent days and his transfer was finally confirmed this week as he became the Red Devils’ second signing of the summer following the arrival of Brazilian midfielder Fred.

Manchester United will be looking to challenge for the Premier League title next season after they ended Jose Mourinho’s second campaign in charge at Old Trafford without a trophy.

And the teenager has declared his intention to help Manchester United get back to the top of English football in the season’s to come.

Speaking to Manchester United’s website, Dalot said: “[My targets are] just to help the club achieve good things here and win, because this is a winning team.”

Manchester United ended up second in the Premier League last season and 19 points behind champions Manchester City, before losing the FA Cup final to Chelsea FC.

The Red Devils have not won the Premier League title since their final triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013.
