Jose Mourinho has told Paul Pogba that he is free to leave Manchester United this summer, according to a report in England.
Spanish media website Diario Gol, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that the Manchester United manager is ready to offload the France international in the summer transfer window.
The same article states that Mourinho has decided Pogba isn’t up to the required level at Manchester United following his stop-start 2017-18 Premier League campaign.
According to the same story, FC Barcelona could look to sign Pogba in a big-money deal, although it remains to be seen whether the Spanish side could afford the Frenchman’s asking price.
The France star has also been linked with Champions League winners Real Madrid and Ligue 1 holders Paris Saint-Germain over the past season.
Manchester United re-signed Pogba in an £89m deal from Serie A giants Juventus in the 2016 summer transfer window following Mourinho’s appointment as Louis van Gaal’s successor.
The Red Devils haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge of the Manchester United side.
Mourinho’s men finished in second place in the Premier League last term but 19 points adrift of champions Manchester City.
