Mourinho told Man United will have to pay €100m for Real Madrid star
Journalist Ian McGarry claims Manchester United will have to pay £100m to sign Cristiano Ronaldo
Manchester United will have to pay €100m to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid this summer, Ian McGarry has claimed.
The Red Devils have been linked with a potential move to sign the Portugal international in the current market.
Manchester United sold Ronaldo to Real Madrid in what was then a world record £80m deal in the 2009 summer transfer window.
Ronaldo has since gone on to establish himself as one of Real Madrid’s all-time great players over the past nine seasons.
The Portuguese forward has won two La Liga titles, four Champions League crowns and the Copa del Rey.
Ronaldo, though, hinted that his future may lie elsewhere following Real Madrid’s 3-1 victory over Liverpool FC in the Champions League final.
Manchester United have been inevitably linked with a swoop to re-sign Ronaldo under his compatriot Jose Mourinho this summer.
Reporter McGarry named Real Madrid’s asking price for Ronaldo in the current transfer window.
“Real Madrid will sell him for the 100m euro mark,” McGarry told the Transfer Window podcast.
Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last season.
The Red Devils have only won the Premier League twice since Ronaldo moved to Real Madrid in 2009.
