Man United receive Juventus boost in race to sign 23-year-old Serie A star – report
Manchester United face less competition to sign Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to a report
Manchester United have been handed a boost in the race to sign Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic after Juventus switched their focus to Russia star Aleksandr Golovin, according to a report.
Goal, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that the Serie A champions will look to sign the CSKA Moscow playmaker instead of the Serbia international in the summer transfer window.
The same article states that Juventus will no long pursue Milinkovic-Savic after the Italian giants signed Germany international Emre Can in a free transfer from Liverpool FC last week.
According to the same story, Lazio are demanding £132m for their Serbian playmaker, which would comfortably eclipse the £89m fee that Manchester United paid for Paul Pogba in the 2016 summer transfer window.
Manchester United have already signed Brazil international Fred in a reported £52m deal from Ukrainian Premier League champions Shakhtar Donetsk earlier this month to improve their midfield options.
The Red Devils have also brought in Portuguese full-back Diogo Dalot in a £17m deal from FC Porto.
Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last season but finished a staggering 19 points adrift of runaway champions Manchester City.
