Manchester United are set to rival Chelsea FC and Tottenham Hotspur for the signing of Lyon midfielder Tanguy N’Dombele, according to a report in France.

French media outfit Le10 Sport, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that Manchester United have enetered the race to sign the Lyon star in the current transfer window.

The same article states that Manchester United would be required to pay a transfer fee in the region of £53m to bring the 21-year-old to the 20-time English champions.

According to the same story, Chelsea and Spurs are also interested in a bid to sign the France Under-21 international in the summer transfer window.

Le10 Sport suggest that Lyon would be willing sell N’Dombele this summer despite agreeing a permanent deal for the talented midfielder a matter of months ago.

He made 32 appearances in Ligue 1 last season to help Lyon finish in third place in the table behind Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco.

Manchester United have signed Portuguese full-back Diogo Dalot in a £17m deal from FC Porto in the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils have also signed Brazilian midfielder Fred in a £52m deal from Ukrainian Premier League champions Shakhtar Donetsk.
