The Manchester United forward has been linked with a potential exit at Old Trafford this summer after Martial struggled to hold down a regular starting spot under Jose Mourinho last term.
The 22-year-old has often found himself the subject of criticim from the Portuguese head coach due to his failure to complete his defensive duties in the Manchester United team.
Martial was a big favourite at Manchester United in his first season at the 20-time English champions after the French striker scored 19 times in all competitions under Louis van Gaal.
But Martial has failed to kick on at Manchester United since Mourinho too over the reins of the Old Trafford outfit in May 2016.
Tottenham are widely reported to be long-term admirers of the France international, who missed out on a place in Didier Deschamps’ squad for the World Cup.
Spurs have a promising team but Tottenham don’t have a lot of pace on the wings with Erik Lamela, Christian Eriksen and Deli Alli in the side.
Former West Ham goalkeeper Hislop believes Martial would be a good addition to the Tottenham team.
“He is the type of player Pochettino have signed. But Spurs have a surplus of that type of midfielder,” Hislop told ESPN FC.
“There are other issues. I can see him fit in. Maybe they need an out and out wide man.”
