The Manchester Evening News, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that the Red Devils are still keen on a move to bring the 29-year-old to Old Trafford this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to strengthen his squad ahead of next season.
Manchester United are said to be “confident” of concluding a deal for the talented attacker ahead of next season.
It is being claimed that Chelsea FC need to sell some players to free up funds for this summer’s transfer window, and the Blues would be more willing to let Willian leave Stamford Bridge than Eden Hazard, who continues to be linked with Real Madrid.
According to the same story, Willian remains on Manchester United’s transfer wish-list for this summer as the Red Devils look to try and add to their squad.
Mourinho already knows Willian well, after having worked with him during the pair’s time together at Chelsea FC.
Meanwhile, Manchester United officially confirmed the signing of Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk on Thursday afternoon.
The Brazilian midfielder becomes the Red Devils’s second signing of the summer after having brought in Diogo Dalot from FC Porto.
