Marcus Rashford talks up Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo
Marcus Rashford talks up Cristiano Ronaldo following his brilliant form for both club and country
Marcus Rashford believes that Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player on the planet on current form.
The Real Madrid star has been earning huge amounts of praise for his performances in recent seasons and he helped Real Madrid to win their third straight Champions League title last term.
The 33-year-old has also gotten off to a flyer at this summer’s World Cup in Russia, with the Portugal captain having scored four goals in his first two games for his country.
Ronaldo has regularly been linked with a move back to Manchester United from Real Madrid, but it remains to be seen whether such talk is anything more than pure speculation.
Manchester United striker Rashford is clearly a huge fan of the Portugal star and has talked up the attacker’s form in recent months.
Rashford is quoted as saying by the Daily Express: “He keeps making these moments which are unbelievable and there is no better sort of motivation than him.
“[Is he the best in the game right now?] I’d say so.
“He is not only maintaining it but he keeps hitting new heights.
“To get to that level it takes years and years of doing the same things in training every day.”
Red Devils attacker Rashford will be hoping to start for England in their second group game against Panama on Sunday.
The Manchester United striker ended up being a second half substitute for Gareth Southgate’s men as the Three Lions claimed a 2-1 win over Tunisia in their opening game in Russia on Monday.
