Borussia Dortmund want to sign 25-year-old Chelsea FC striker – report
Borussia Dortmund are lining up a move to try and sign Alvaro Morata from Chelsea FC, say reports
Borussia Dortmund are lining up a move to try and sign Alvaro Morata from Chelsea FC this summer, according to reports in the German media.
German newspaper Bild, as quoted by talkSPORT, is reporting that the German side want to bring in the former Real Madrid star to spearhead their attack next season.
The same report says that Dortmund have put Morata at the top of their shopping list in the summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old forward endured a mixed campaign at Stamford Bridge last season after having signed for the west London club from Real Madrid in July of last year.
Morata started the season strongly but his form tailed off in the second half of the campaign after he struggled with a back injury.
And the Spaniard was eventually replaced in the starting line-up by January signing Olivier Giroud, who arrived from Arsenal at the turn of the year.
Chelsea FC endured something of a disappointing campaign last term as they ended up in fifth place in the Premier League table and missed out on Champions League qualification.
However, they did end the campaign on a high by beating Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley back in May.
