Patrice Evra offers transfer advice to Man United target
Patrice Evra has a Manchester United transfer warning for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic
Patrice Evra has told Sergej Milinkovic-Savic that he must show that he is “willing to die” for Manchester United if he wants to sign for the Red Devils this summer.
The Serbia international has been strongly linked with a possible move to Old Trafford this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his midfield options at the club ahead of next season.
There has not yet been any official confirmation of talks, but it is believed that the Red Devils do have an interest in bringing the highly-rated 23-year-old to the Premier League this summer.
The midfielder has also been touted as a target for some of Europe’s other top clubs this summer and it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.
However, former Manchester United star Evra has warned Milinkovic-Savic that he will have to show himself as being worthy of a place in the team at Old Trafford should he indeed secure a move to Manchester United.
Speaking to ITV Sport, Evra said: “I’m really careful when I talk about Manchester United, because to play for this club, it’s not about your ability. You need to be a character, a personality.
“To play for this club, you need to die for this club. The expectations are really huge and I’m afraid now. If you said to me ‘Patrice, you will play for Man United, but you won’t even get paid’, I would play for this club.
“So, if he has that mentality – I don’t ask him to say he doesn’t want any money – but if he goes there and makes sure he will die for the club, I will be really happy.”
Manchester United have already made their first two signings of the summer transfer window after wrapping up deals for both Fred and Diogo Dalot.
The Red Devils are believed to be on the lookout for a number of other recruits as they bid to try and win the title next season.
