Sky Sports News reporter gives Liverpool FC transfer update on Nabil Fekir
Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth provides an update on Liverpool FC's bid to sign Nabil Fekir
Liverpool FC’s pursuit of Lyon captain Nabil Fekir isn’t “completely and utterly over”, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Reds have been heavily linked with a move to sign Lyon attacker Fekir in the summer transfer window.
The Merseyside outfit have funds to spend after the Reds sold Philippe Coutinho in a £142m deal from FC Barcelona in the January transfer window.
However, Fekir’s proposed move to Liverpool FC fell through due to the Reds’ reported concerns about a knee injury.
Liverpool FC have already signed Brazil international Fabinho from AS Monaco to bolster their options in the middle of the park.
Fekir’s agent hinted that Fekir’s potential switch to Liverpool FC could still go through later this summer.
Sky Sports News reporter Sheth appeared to back up the claims made by Fekir’s representative.
“We are hearing the agent talking about Fekir and that he didn’t sign because it is no over. The noises we are getting from Liverpool is nothing has changed,” Sheth told the Transfer Talk podcast.
“It should be noted the deal isn’t completely and utterly isn’t finished.”
The 18-time English champions are keen to secure Fekir’s signature ahead of the close of the summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old scored 18 times and made eight assists in 30 appearances in the French top flight last season.
Liverpool FC finished in fourth spot in the Premier League table to ensure their continued participation in the Champions League.
The Reds lost 3-1 to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev last month.
