Tottenham Hotspur are lining up a summer transfer bid to try and sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the north London side are ready to test Aston Villa’s resolve, and are convinced that they will be able to land the 22-year-old for less than the Birmingham club’s £40m asking price.
The same report says that Tottenham chief Daniel Levy feels that he is capable of negotiating a deal for as little as £15m to bring the midfielder to White Hart Lane this summer.
According to the same story, Villa are set to have to cash in on Grealish this summer after their failure to win promotion to the Premier League left the club in a financial mess.
The article also claims that Grealish is close friends with Dele Alli and would be open to the prospect of moving to White Hart Lane to develop his game under Mauricio Pochettino.
Tottenham are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to assemble a squad capable of challenging for the title next season.
Spurs finished third in the Premier League table last term under Pochettino.
