John Terry convinced 22-year-old Tottenham, Man United target to move – report
John Terry played a key role in convincing Jack Grealish to leave Aston Villa, according to reports
Jack Grealish has chosen to quit Aston Villa this summer and John Terry played a big part in convincing him to leave the club, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror, as quoted by Metro, says that the former Chelsea FC captain underlined the need for the 22-year-old to move to a higher level after Aston Villa missed out on promotion to the Premier League.
The same report says that Manchester United are interested in signing Grealish this summer, but that Tottenham Hotspur are currently leading the race for his signature this summer.
The story claims that Chelsea FC legend Terry played a “key” role in convincing Grealish that a move away from Aston Villa is a good decision this summer.
There has yet to be any official confirmation of Tottenham’s interest in Grealish and it remains to be seen whether Manchester United will look to compete with the Lilywhites for his signature this summer.
Mauricio Pochettino is looking to assemble a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title next season after Spurs ended up in third place and without a trophy last term.
The Lilywhites are believed to be on the lookout for a number of signings before their move into their new stadium.
