Fulham could complete a sensational coup and beat their Premier League rivals to the signing Nice midfielder Jean Seri, according to a report in England.

Sky Sports Italia, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that Fulham are set to pull off a transfer masterstroke and beat both Arsenal and Chelsea to Seri’s signature.

The same article states that Seri was in the English capital earlier this week to fuel speculation that a move to the Premier League is set to happen in the near future.

According to the same story, newly promoted Fulham will pay £17.7m to sign the Ivory Coast international ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

The Sun go on to claim that Chelsea FC have been the frontrunners to sign Seri, while Arsenal have also retained an interest in the Nice midfielder.

The Blues, though, appear to be closing in on a deal to sign Italy international Jorginho from Serie A side Napoli, which perhaps explains why their interest in Seri may have cooled.

Arsenal have signed Sampdoria and Uruguay star Lucas Torreira to improve their options in the middle of the park, while Sevilla star Steven N’Zonzi is thought to be a target for Unai Emery.
