Arsenal, Liverpool FC want to sign 25-year-old Brazilian – report
Arsenal and Liverpool FC are both being linked with a potential swoop to sign free agent Bernard this summer, according to a report
Arsenal and Liverpool FC are both looking at a potential deal to sign Shakhtar Donetsk forward Bernard, according to a report in Brazil.
Brazilian media outlet Esporte, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Premier League duo are considering a swoop to sign the 25-year-old in the summer transfer window.
The same article states that Bernard is available on a free transfer after his contract at the Ukrainian Premier League champions came to an end at the end of the 2017-18 season.
According to the same story, West Ham and Chinese side Jiangsu Suning have submitted firm offers to sign the Brazilian forward.
However, Esporte suggests that Bernard is tempted to wait to see if Arsenal or Liverpool FC will make a concrete approach to sign the South American.
Arsenal have already been very active in the 2018 summer transfer window following the additions of Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno and Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
Liverpool FC, on the other hand, have also added Brazil international Fabinho and RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita to Jurgen Klopp’s squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
The Reds finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season and two spots above Arsenal.
