Arsenal make contract with Serie A club about 23-year-old – report
Arsenal are interested in a potential deal to sign Torino star M'Baye Niang, according to a report
Arsenal have made an approach to sign Torino star M’Baye Niang in the summer transfer window, according to a report in Italy.
Website Tutto Mercato Web, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that the Gunners have made contact with Torino over a potential deal to sign the Senegal international.
The same article states that League Cup runners up Arsenal haven’t made an official bid to sign the 23-year-old holding midfielder in the current transfer window.
According to the same story, the Gunners could step up their interest in Niang in the near future given the Premier League’s summer transfer window will shut on 9 August.
However, the Italian media outlet is also reporting that Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are also interested in a swoop to sign the African midfielder.
The north London side started their summer spending spree with the addition of Switzerland international Stephan Lichtsteiner in a free transfer from Serie A giants Juventus.
The Gunners have also brought in Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno to compete with Petr Cech and David Ospina for the starting spot under Unai Emery.
The north London outfit have also brought on Greece international Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund earlier this month before Lucas Torreira swapped Sampdoria for Arsenal.
Matteo Guendouzi became the fifth arrival after the teenager left Lorient.
