Director replies to question about Arsenal, Man United interest in Ante Rebic
Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Fredi Bobic says Arsenal and Man United target Ante Rebic is free to leave this summer
Ante Rebic is free to leave Eintracht Frankfurt this summer amid interest from Arsenal and Manchester United, according to sporting director Fredi Bobic.
The Croatia international impressed during his national team’s run to the World Cup final following a 2-1 extra-time win over England on Wednesday night.
Rebic helped Croatia to come from 1-0 down against Russia and England in the quarter-finals and semi-finals to secure their place in the World Cup showpiece.
The 24-year-old is thought to be attracting interest from Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in the current transfer window.
Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are also thought to be monitoring the Croatian midfielder with view to a potential summer deal.
Eintracht Frankfurt agreed to a deal with Fiorentina to sign Rebic on a permanent deal earlier this summer after two seasons on loan at the German club.
Frankfurt sporting director Bobic delivered an update on Rebic’s future at the Bundesliga outfit.
“I am very happy about the success of Ante Rebic with the Croatian national team,” Bobic is quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror.
“The players and the coaching team are watching the World Cup games together in the training camp in the USA and, of course, are especially excited about Ante.
“So far, there are no offers available and we’re planning a steady season with Ante Rebic for the new season.
“Of course we know that a lot can happen when a big club makes an offer. We cannot compete economically with the big ones, but that’s nothing new.”
Manchester United have signed Brazil international Fred in a £52m deal from Ukrainian Premier League champions Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils have also brought in FC Porto defender Diogo Dalot in a £17m deal to improve their defensive options ahead of the new campaign.
