BBC reporter gives latest update on Aaron Ramsey Arsenal contract
Arsenal are still in talks to extend Aaron Ramsey's contract, says reporter David Ornstein
Arsenal are still in discussions with Aaron Ramsey about extending his current contract, according to BBC Sport reporter David Ornstein.
The Wales international’s future has been a source of some speculation in recent months, as his current deal is set to expire next summer and the Gunners are unlikely to want to let his contract run down in the coming months.
New Arsenal boss Unai Emery is said to be keen on getting Ramsey to sign a new deal at The Emirates, as the new manager looks to assemble his midfield ahead of his first campaign in charge.
Now, BBC Sport reporter Ornstein has confirmed that talks for Ramsey to extend his current contract are still ongoing.
Ornstein simply wrote on Twitter: “Ramsey contract talks ongoing.
Meanwhile, Arsenal confirmed their second official signing of the summer last week when they tied up a deal to bring goalkeeper Bernd Leno to the club from Bayer Leverkusen.
The north London side are thought to be keen on making a number of other new signings this summer as they look to try and build a squad capable of at least breaking back into the top four next season.
