Jurgen Klopp makes prediction about Arsenal and Chelsea FC next season
Jurgen Klopp says both Arsenal and Chelsea FC will be strong contenders next season
Jurgen Klopp believes that both Arsenal and Chelsea FC will be “strong” contenders in the Premier League next season despite both clubs having new managers.
The Gunners have appointed Unai Emery as the club’s new manager this summer after opting to part company with Arsene Wenger at the end of last season after almost 22 years.
Chelsea FC, meanwhile, have brought in Maurizio Sarri as the club’s new boss after the Blues sacked Antonio Conte following their fifth-placed finish in the Premier League last season.
Arsenal have already signed five new players this summer, while Chelsea FC have brought in two new faces as both London clubs look to try and challenge for the title or at least break back into the top four next term.
And Liverpool FC boss Klopp, who himself will be hoping to guide the Reds to a title challenge next season, believes that both of the London clubs will be among the contenders for the title next season.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Klopp said: “Arsenal and Chelsea have new managers but they will be strong – plus a few others – so it’s our job to improve our own situation.
“That’s what we try to do but that has to happen on the pitch, not in the transfer market.
“We want to deliver constantly. We want to improve that’s what we want to show and we will see where that leads us to.
“Improvement means playing better football, being more consistent and entertaining the crowd in a very specific way – We are Liverpool and we stand for football.
“All I can say is that we will try everything we can to be as successful as possible and in the end we will see.”
Liverpool FC are still looking to win their first trophy since Klopp’s appointment at Anfield back in October 2015.
The Reds reached the Champions League final but were beaten 3-1 by Real Madrid last season.
