Arsenal update in bid to sign quality FC Barcelona attacker – report
Arsenal's bid to try and sign Ousmane Dembele depends on whether FC Barcelona will send him out on loan, say reports
Arsenal’s bid to try and sign Ousmane Dembele from FC Barcelona this summer hinges on whether the Spanish club are prepared to send him out on loan or not, according to reports in the British media.
Website football.london, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Gunners are keen on a move to sign the France attacker this summer despite him only having joined FC Barcelona last year.
According to the same story, the Gunners have identified Dembele as the perfect signing this summer as Unai Emery looks to add some more firepower to his squad ahead of his first season in charge.
The same article says that the north London side are not able to finance a deal for the 21-year-old and their only hope of signing him this summer would be to take him on loan.
Indeed, it is being claimed that Arsenal’s only hope of landing Dembele this summer would be if he were available on loan.
Arsenal have made five new signings so far this summer as the north London side look to build a squad capable of challenging for the title next season.
The north London side ended up in sixth place in the table last term as they missed out on a place in the Champions League for next season in Arsene Wenger’s final campaign in charge.
They also lost the League Cup final to Manchester City back in February.
