Arsenal could be set to face competition from local rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Steven N’Zonzi from Sevilla this summer, according to reports in the Spanish media.

Spanish newspaper Marca, as quoted by website football.london, is reporting that the midfielder is poised to leave the Spanish club this summer and both of the north London sides are considering moves to try and sign the 29-year-old.

N’Zonzi has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal all summer but a transfer has not yet been confirmed ahead of next season.

Now, it is being claimed in the same report that Tottenham Hotspur are keen on a move to bring N’Zonzi to White Hart Lane this summer.

Meanwhile, Arsenal finally confirmed the signing of midfielder Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria on Tuesday following the speculation linking the Uruguay midfielder with a switch to The Emirates.

The north London side are looking to build a squad capable of at least breaking back into the top four next season after the Gunners finished in sixth place in the Premier League table and without a trophy last term.

Arsenal have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign.
