Unai Emery could axe Arsenal duo ahead of next season – report
Unai Emery is considering selling Arsenal duo David Ospina and Danny Welbeck, say reports
Unai Emery is considering selling Arsenal duo David Ospina and Danny Welbeck in the summer transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Telegraph is reporting that both the goalkeeper and the striker are facing uncertain futures at The Emirates when they return from their holidays after the World Cup.
Emery has been revamping his squad at The Emirates as he prepares for his first season in charge of the north London club.
The Gunners have already brought in five new players this summer as they look to build a squad capable of challenging for a top-four place in the table next season.
Arsenal have signed new goalkeeper Bernd Leno to add competition for both Ospina and Petr Cech at The Emirates.
The same report says that Ospina is more likely than Cech to leave The Emirates this summer, while Welbeck is also facing an uncertain future after having struggled for selection recently.
Arsenal will be looking to at least break back into the top four next season after the Gunners finished in sixth place and without a trophy in Arsene Wenger’s final campaign in charge at the club.
The north London side will have to settle for Europa League football next season.
