Arsenal, Tottenham set to ‘battle it out’ to sign 23-year-old France star – report
Arsenal and Tottenham are both interested in a deal to sign PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to a report in France
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are set to rival each other for the signing of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to a report in France.
French media website France Football, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that Arsenal and Tottenham both want to sign the France international in the summer transfer window.
The same article states that Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino sees Rabiot as the perfect replacement for Belgium international Moussa Dembele.
According to the same story, Arsenal haven’t made a formal offer for Rabiot despite Unai Emery being interested in a deal to sign the France international this summer.
However, France Football goes on to suggest that speculation linking Rabiot with a move to north London could be a simple ploy to get the 23-year-old improved terms at PSG.
Rabiot scored one goal and made six assists in 33 appearances in Ligue 1 last season to help PSG win the French top flight crown.
Arsenal have been busy in the summer transfer market since former PSG boss Emery took over the reins from Arsene Wenger back in May.
The Gunners have signed Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno and Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos in the summer transfer window so far.
