Unai Emery will have to sell some Arsenal players to fund a move to sign Andre Gomes from FC Barcelona, according to a report
Unai Emery is hoping to raise funds to sign FC Barcelona star Andre Gomes with the sale of a number of Arsenal players, according to a report in England.
The Independent is reporting that the Arsenal boss is a big admirer of the Portugal international and the Gunners are keen to sign the 24-year-old.
The same article states that the north London side have a limited transfer budget so Emery would have to offload some players to fund a move for Gomes.
According to the same story, FC Barcelona would be keen to secure in the region of £30m for the Portuguese forward in the 2018 summer transfer window.
Arsenal have been active in the summer transfer market so far following the addition of three new players after Emery’s appointment as Arsene Wenger’s successor.
Arsenal signed experienced Switzerland international Stephan Lichtsteiner in a free transfer from Serie A giants Juventus.
The Gunners have also brought in Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno in a £20m deal to provide Petr Cech and David Opsina with competition for a starting spot next term.
The north London outfit have also signed Greece international Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund earlier this week.
