Unai Emery determined to keep 23-year-old at Arsenal – report
Arsenal boss Unai Emery is desperate to keep Hector Bellerin at The Emirates, according to a report
Unai Emery doesn’t want Arsenal to sell Hector Bellerin in the summer transfer window, according to a report in England.
The Daily Mail, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that the new Arsenal manager is desperate to keep the Spain international at the north London side.
The same article states that the Spanish head coach views Bellerin as a “must-keep player” ahead of his first season in charge of the League Cup runners up.
According to the same story, FC Barcelona and Manchester United have expressed an interest in the Spanish full-back to bolster their options at full-back.
Bellerin will face more competition for the right-back spot in Emery’s team next season after Arsenal signed Switzerland captain Stephan Lichtsteiner in a free transfer from Serie A champions Juventus earlier this summer.
The Gunners finished in sixth spot in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a Champions League spot for the second successive season.
Arsenal lost 3-0 to Premier League champions Manchester City in the League Cup final at Wembley to end Arsene Wenger’s final season without silverware.
The north London side have also signed Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno and Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
