Arsenal make approach to sign Mexico star – report
Arsenal are interested in a deal to sign Mexico international Hirving Lozano from PSV Eindhoven this summer
Arsenal have made an approach to sign World Cup star Hirving Lozano from PSV Eindhoven this summer, according to a report.
Transfer Market Web, as quoted by talkSPORT, is reporting that Arsenal are very interested in a deal to sign the Mexico international in the current transfer window.
The same article states that Arsenal have already made an approach for the PSV star with a view to a transfer before the start of the new Premier League campaign.
The 22-year-old scored Mexico’s winner in a 1-0 victory over Germany in their World Cup opener before he made an assist in their 3-0 win against South Korea.
Lozano has scored 19 goals and made 11 assists in 34 games in the Dutch top flight last season following his move to Eredivisie outfit PSV from Pachuca last summer.
The Dutch club spent £7m on Lozano but PSV are sure to demand three or four times that figure if Arsenal want to sign the highly-rated Mexico star.
Lozano’s current contract is set to run until 2023 after he put pen to paper on a six-year deal upon his move to PSV in the 2017 summer transfer window.
Arsenal haven’t won the Premier League title since 2003-04 but the Gunners are under new management after Unai Emery replaced Arsene Wenger.
