Ian Wright has lavished praise on Arsenal for their excellent signings in the summer transfer window so far.

The Gunners announced Unai Emery as their new manager after Arsene Wenger stood down at the end of the 2017-18 Premier League campaign.

Arsenal signed Switzerland international Stephan Lichtsteiner in a free transfer from Serie A giants Juventus.

The Gunners completed a £20m deal for German goalkeeper Bernd Leno from Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen.

Arsenal have also brought in Greece international Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.

Emery continued his spending spree with the £26m addition of Uruguay international Lucas Torreira from Serie A giants Sampdoria.

Arsenal added a fifth player to their squad in the summer transfer window when the north London side Matteo Guendouzi.

Former Arsenal striker Wright has been impressed with the north London side’s acquisitions in the summer transfer window so far.

Wright wrote on Twitter: “Great momentum in this window. Sokratis and Lichtsteiner’s age and experience balanced off with one (maybe two) exciting young players. Great season & WC for Torreira and he could slot straight in but will need some time to settle. Patience key. #Arsenal #Torreira👌🏾”

Arsenal finished in sixth spot in the Premier League table last term after the Gunners regressed under Wenger.

The north London side lost 3-0 to Premier League champions Manchester City in the League Cup final at Wembley.

Arsenal were unable to win the Europa League following a 2-1 loss to Atletico Madrid over two legs.
