Arsenal will conclude the signing of Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira in a £25m deal next week, according to a report in England.

The Daily Mail, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that Arsenal are close to concluding a transfer deal for Torreira.

The same article states that the Gunners’ negotiations with Serie A side Sampdoria are coming to an end ahead of a deal going through.

According to the same story, Arsenal will pay in the region of £25m to make Torreira their third summer signing of the current transfer window.

The Uruguay international helped his national team to ease to a 2-1 win over Portugal in the World Cup round of 16 at the weekend.

Torreira and his Uruguayan team-mates will take on France in the World Cup quarter-finals next weekend.

Arsenal have already signed Juventus veteran Stephan Lichtsteiner in a free transfer in the summer transfer window so far.

The Gunners have also brought in Germany international Bernd Leno in a £20m deal from Bayer Leverkusen to improve their options in goal.

Arsenal finished in sixth spot in the Premier League last season to miss out on Champions League football for the second successive campaign.
