New Arsenal signing Matteo Guendouzi sends message to Gunners fans
The new Arsenal signing is hoping to blossom into a world class player at The Emirates
Matteo Guendouzi has underlined his desire to blossom into a top player at Arsenal.
The Gunners completed a deal to sign the France Under-20 international from Ligue 2 side FC Lorient on Wednesday evening.
Guendouzi has signed a long-term contract with the Gunners as Unai Emery looks to add some promising potential to his squad.
The 19-year-old has made 26 league appearances for FC Lorient during two seasons in the French club’s first-team.
The French teenager has been handed the number 29 shirt following his switch to Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Guendouzi will battle it out with new Arsenal signing Lucas Torreira, Switzerland international Granit Xhaka and African star Mohamed Elneny for a starting spot in the middle of the park.
Speaking to Arsenal media about his summer switch to the Emirates Stadium, Guendouzi sent an exciting message to the Gunners supporters.
“My hope is to become a top player here at Arsenal,” Guendouzi said.
“A lot of great players have played here. I want to become part of the club’s history and to achieve great things here. I want to win titles, titles, titles.
“I want to establish myself here, which would be amazing. Winning silverware, as I said, is very important to me and winning things here at Arsenal would be incredible.”
Arsenal signed experienced Switzerland international Stephan Lichtsteiner in a free transfer from Serie A giants Juventus.
The Gunners have also brought in Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno in a £20m deal.
The north London outfit have also brought on Greece international Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund earlier this week.
Lucas Torreira became the fourth addition at The Emirates on Tuesday evening.
