The Greece international became the third summer signing of the transfer window on Monday evening after the defender finally completed his much-anticipated move.
Arsenal have recruited the experienced centre-half to improve their defence following the appointment of Unai Emery as Arsene Wenger’s appointment.
The Gunners haven’t won the Premier League title since Henry, Pires and Vieira inspired Arsenal to an unbeaten Premier League title triumph.
The north London side have finished outside the top four in the last two seasons to miss out on Champions League football.
Asked about which of Arsenal’s players Sokratis has admired the most, the Gunners defender told the club’s website:
“A lot. Vieira, Henry, Pires also. It’s a lot of players.
“Every year, every two years, this team has a lot of players that write a big history here.”
Arsenal parted company with Wenger following their sixth-placed finish behind Tottenham, Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC last term.
The Gunners have also signed Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner and Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno so far this summer.
The north London side haven’t finished in the Champions League spots since 2015-16.
