Ray Parlour has admitted that he would like to see Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi at Arsenal.

The France international has been linked with a potential switch to the Gunners to reunite with his former manager Unai Emery.

The Spanish head coach took over the reins of the north London club back in May after Arsene Wenger stood down following 22 seasons in charge.

The Gunners manager coached N’Zonzi for one season at Sevilla before Emery was appointed as Carlo Ancelotti’s successor at Paris Saint-Germain.

The 29-year-old was part of the France squad that won the World Cup thanks to a thrilling 4-2 win over Croatia in Sunday’s showpiece.

N’Zonzi would add more power to the Arsenal midfield following the addition of Sampdoria star Lucas Torreira in a £26m deal earlier this summer.

Arsenal legend Parlour believes N’Zonzi would be a great addition to the Gunners team if Emery is able to complete a deal for the former Stoke City star.

“I really like Steven N’Zonzi and would like to see him at Arsenal,” Parlour told bWIN.

“I think he’s a really good player and he of course has Premier League experience.

“I’ve been really impressed with him for Sevilla and also for France at the World Cup.

“If we signed him we would have to let someone go in midfield, but I’d love to see Arsenal get him this summer.”

The Gunners have signed Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno, Dortmund centre-half Sokratis and French teenager Matteo Guendouzi so far this summer.

Arsenal finished in fifth spot in the Premier League table last term to miss out on a Champions League spot.
