Arsenal target Steven N'Zonzi has handed in a transfer request at Sevilla to force a move to the Gunners, according to a report
Arsenal have been handed a possible boost after Steve N’Zonzi submitted a transfer request, according to a report in England.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the France international has asked to leave Sevilla to open the door for the Gunners to sign the 29-year-old this summer.
The same article states that the former Blackburn Rovers midfielder is one of Unai Emery’s top targets in the summer transfer window.
According to the same story, Sevilla would be willing to accept £22m for the defensive midfielder despite being £13m less than his contract release clause.
N’Zonzi has established himself as one of La Liga’s best holding midfielders during his three season stint at Sevilla.
The 29-year-old certainly has plenty of Premier League experience under his belt following stints at Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City.
Arsenal have signed three players in the summer transfer window since Emery took over the reins from Arsene Wenger back in May.
The Gunners recruited Stephan Lichtsteiner in a free transfer from Serie A champions Juventus to bolster their defensive options.
Arsenal have also signed German goalkeeper Bernd Leno from Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen in a £20m deal.
Sokratis Papastathopoulos became their third summer signing on Monday evening when he secured a switch to the Gunners from Dortmund.
