Chelsea FC have managed to beat Manchester City to the signing of Jorginho after offering Napoli more money than the Premier League champions, according to a report in England.

The Evening Standard is reporting that the Blues are set to complete the singing of the Italy international to land their first acquisition of the summer transfer window.

The story goes on to claim that Chelsea FC are willing to pay £57.4m for Jorginho after Manchester City had put an offer thought to be worth £48.6m on the table.

Chelsea FC have offered to pay the Serie A runners up £51.25m up front before the Blues cough up another £6.18m in add-ons to seal Jorginho’s transfer, according to the same article.

The Evening Standard is also claiming that the Blues are have agreed to hand Jorginho a five-year contract worth around £105,000 a week.
