Quality 22-year-old’s mother reveals Chelsea FC transfer talks
Aleksandr Golovin's mother confirms that Chelsea FC are keen to try and sign him this summer
The mother of CSKA Moscow star Aleksandr Golovin has revealed that Chelsea FC are in talks to try and sign the midfielder this summer.
The 22-year-old has been touted as a target for Chelsea FC and a number of other Premier League clubs as the summer transfer window gets into full swing.
Golovin is currently on international duty with Russia at the World Cup, but that has not prevented him from being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Indeed, there have been reports that Maurizio Sarri is keen to make the Russia international one of his first summer signings this summer if he does take over at the west London club.
Now, the attacker’s mother Svetlana has appeared to confirm that Chelsea FC are in talks with CSKA Moscow over a possible deal to bring Golovin to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Speaking in an interview quoted by Metro, she said: “Yes, now there are talks between the clubs, but we still do not know the details.
“Sacha right now stands only for the Russian team, fully focused on the World Cup. The transition from one club to another will only be discussed after it is completed here.
“For now, everyone loves my Sacha, even those who before didn’t care about football.
“His biggest fan is his 83-year-old grandmother – she does not miss a single match.”
Chelsea FC are one of the few major clubs in Europe not to have made any new signings so far this summer.
The west London side will likely be looking to make a number of new signings as they look to try and build a team at least capable of breaking back into the top four next season.
