Marcos Alonso has insisted that he is enjoying life under Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea FC following the Italian’s appointment as the club’s new manager.

The Italian boss was brought in as the new man in charge at Stamford Bridge after Chelsea FC opted to part company with Antonio Conte earlier this month.

Chelsea FC have been getting to grips with life under their new manager during their pre-season tour of Australia as they get themselves into shape ahead of the new season.

Alonso will be hoping to prove himself as worthy of a regular starting spot under Sarri next season.

And the Spanish full-back has opened up about what life has been like under Sarri since his move to Stamford Bridge earlier this month.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Alonso said: “We are working on some new things: a new formation and a new style.

“He wants us to press high and he wants the team together for possession of the ball.

“A lot of the things we have just started working [on] but it is looking good. I don’t have to run as much as last year! It’s good, more for us to defend and when I can, try and help the team in attack.”

Chelsea FC will be looking to at least challenge for the Premier League title next season after they ended up in fifth place last term.

However, they did manage to end Conte’s final campaign on a positive note by beating Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley back in May.

The Blues have so far only signed Jorginho this summer as they look to assemble a squad capable of challenging for the title next term.
