David Luiz has singled out Ethan Ampadu for special praise as the defender looks to break into the Chelsea FC first-team next season.

Ampadu made a handful of appearances for the Blues last season under Antonio Conte and earned praise for his solid displays for the west London club.

The 17-year-old will be hoping to impress new Chelsea FC manager Maurizio Sarri as he looks to try and hold down a regular spot in the first team under the new boss.

And Luiz has been hugely impressed by Ampadu’s attitude both on and off the pitch for the Blues in recent weeks.

Speaking in an interview with Chelsea FC’s website, Luiz said: “He’s a fantastic boy, a fantastic player and he has great humility.

“He’s very humble, he has his feet on the ground and tries to learn every day. He’s 17, almost 18, but for me he’s already a man to play football.

“It’s great for me to have this kind of opportunity, to play with this little boy, although he’s not a little boy, he’s already a man and he’s playing very well.

“I’ve played with many different players in the world, different ages and at different times of their lives, and it’s always great to play with someone like him.

“I try to teach him many things that I’ve already passed in my career. I try to help him in the best way because he deserves the best advice.”

Chelsea FC will be aiming to be one of the main contenders for the Premier League title next season as they bid to try and win a trophy next season.

The Blues ended up in a disappointing fifth place in the Premier League table last term as they won the FA Cup in in Conte’s final campaign in charge of the west London club.

Chelsea FC have so far signed Jorginho and Rob Green this summer as Sarri looks to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season.
