Cesar Azpilicueta reacts to Maurizio Sarri’s appointment as Chelsea FC boss
Cesar Azpilicueta opens up about life under new Chelsea FC boss Maurizio Sarri
Cesar Azpilicueta has admitted that he is enjoying life so far under new Chelsea FC manager Maurizio Sarri.
The Italian boss has been appointed as the club’s new manager after the Blues opted to part company with Antonio Conte at the end of last season.
Sarri has been tasked with leading Chelsea FC back into the top four next season after the Blues ended up in fifth place and won the FA Cup under Conte last term.
And Blues defender Azpilicueta has insisted that he has been happy to work under the new man in charge at Stamford Bridge ahead of next season.
Speaking in an interview with Chelsea FC’s website, Azpilicueta said: “It’s been really good since the first day.
“We’ve been learning his methods and I think the team looks better with every minute. We know we can still improve, we have room for improvement and we want to work on that aspect.
“We know we don’t have a lot of time to prepare for it [the new season] so we have to work hard in every training session and in every game to pick up the movements we want to do.
“I think we saw a good team against Inter Milan and we have to play collectively to get the results.”
Chelsea FC are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they bid to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League next season.
The west London side have made two signings so far this term after having concluded deals for both Jorginho and Rob Green.
Chelsea FC won the Premier League title in Conte’s first season in charge at the club but struggled to find consistent form last term in the top flight.
