Tiemoue Bakayoko has congratulated both N’Golo Kante and Olivier Giroud following their performances for France at this summer’s World Cup in Russia.

The Chelsea FC pair have both been in fine form for their national team this summer as they helped France to reach the final of the tournament.

Bakayoko missed out on a call-up to the national side for the World Cup and he will be determined to earn a place in the squad for the European championships in two years’ time.

However, the Chelsea FC midfielder has been watching proceedings from afar and he has been delighted to see how the likes of Kante and Giroud have been performing in Russia.

Speaking to Chelsea FC’s website, Bakayoko said: “I have watched all the games, and I am so happy for N’Golo. He has had a very good competition. For me he has been the best midfielder at the tournament.

“For Olivier, he has played every game. He is not lucky because he hasn’t scored yet, but I hope he scores in the final! He is very important to the style of our play.”

Meanwhile, Bakayoko will be hoping to impress new Chelsea FC boss Maurizio Sarri after the Italian was appointed as the club’s new manager over the weekend following Antonio Conte’s departure.

The Blues also completed their first signing of the summer over the weekend when they tied up a deal to bring Jorginho to Stamford Bridge from Napoli.

Attentions will now turn towards the players Chelsea FC will look to sign in the coming weeks as they prepare their squad for the new Premier League season.
