The Italian’s situation at Stamford Bridge has been a constant source of speculation this summer after the west London side finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season.
Maurizio Sarri is widely expected to take over at Stamford Bridge, with Conte’s two-year reign at the club likely to come to an end.
However, it has been a summer of uncertainty at the west London club, with the Blues having been linked with a host of summer signings, but not having yet made any transfers.
Now, Sky Sports reporter Sheth has delivered the latest update on the situation at Chelsea FC, and indicated that it was Conte’s settlement figure that was delaying things.
Speaking to the Transfer Talk podcast, Sheth said:
Chelsea FC won the Premier League in Conte’s first campaign in charge at Stamford Bridge but they failed to produce consistent form in the top flight last term.
The west London side did manage to end last season on a positive note, however, as they beat Manchester United in the FA Cup final back in May.
