Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has made signing Eden Hazard from Chelsea FC his top priority this summer and has even chosen the playmaker’s new squad number, according to reports in the Spanish media.

Spanish outlet Diario Gol, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that the La Liga side are aiming to bring the Belgian playmaker to the Bernabeu this summer as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of next season.

The same report says that Hazard is being lined up as a marquee signing by the Spanish side as they are ready to lose Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus.

Hazard has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid, and that speculation has resurfaced this summer after the Blues failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

According to the same story, Real Madrid are determined to land their man this summer and Perez has already decided to give the number seven shirt to the Belgium international.

Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings as they look to try and break back into the top four next season.

The Blues finished fifth and won the FA Cup last term.
