The Brazil born Italy midfielder signed for the Blues over the weekend as he was confirmed as the west London club’s first signing of the summer transfer window from Napoli.
Jorginho became Sarri’s first signing as Chelsea FC manager after the Italian was brought in to Stamford Bridge as Antonio Conte’s successor at the west London club.
The midfielder had been strongly linked with a move to Manchester City this summer, but he ended up signing for the Blues instead.
And Chelsea FC chief Granovskaia has explained just why she thinks that Jorginho will prove to be such a good signing for the west London side.
Speaking to Chelsea FC’s website, Granovskaia said: “We are delighted Jorginho has chosen to join Chelsea.
“He was one of the most coveted midfielders in Europe and will become an important member of the playing squad.
“He has demonstrated his quality working under Maurizio Sarri and we are convinced his signing will help bring further success to Stamford Bridge.”
Chelsea FC are likely to be on the lookout for a number of other new signings this summer as they bid to build a squad at least capable of breaking back into the top four next season.
The west London side finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season after they missed out on Champions League qualification for next term.
