Jorginho has expressed his delight at becoming Chelsea FC’s first signing of the summer transfer window over the weekend.

The Brazil born Italy international signed a five-year contract with the west London club on Saturday as he became new manager Maurizio Sarri’s first signing at Stamford Bridge.

Jorginho had been strongly linked with a move to Manchester City this summer but the west London side ended up beating the Premier League champions to his signature.

He becomes Chelsea FC’s first signing of the summer transfer window following the appointment of Sarri as Antonio Conte’s successor at the weekend.

And the player himself has admitted his delight at becoming Chelsea FC’s first signing of the summer transfer window.

Speaking to Chelsea FC’s website, Jorginho said: “I am absolutely ecstatic to be here at Chelsea.

“It is not easy to become part of such a big team so I am very, very happy.

“I am excited to play in such an intense league, for a team that gives everything to play and win.”

Jorginho will be hoping to help Chelsea FC break back into the top four next season as they look to bounce back from their disappointing campaign under Conte last term.

The west London side ended up in fifth place in the Premier League table as they missed out on Champions League qualification.

However, they were able to finish the campaign on a positive note by beating Manchester United in the FA Cup final back in May.
