New Chelsea FC signing: What I think of Maurizio Sarri
Rob Green has his say on new Chelsea FC manager Maurizio Sarri ahead of the new season
Rob Green believes that new Chelsea FC manager Maurizio Sarri has already galvanised his squad since taking over at Stamford Bridge.
The Italian boss has been getting used to life in charge of the west London club after having been appointed as Antonio Conte’s successor earlier this month.
Sarri has been tasked with steering Chelsea FC back into the top four of the Premier League after the west London side ended up in a disappointing fifth place in the table last term and missed out on Champions League qualification.
Green became Chelsea FC’s second signing of the summer last week when the goalkeeper signed for the Blues on a free transfer.
Sarri is now preparing his Blues squad for the new Premier League season as he looks to have a positive impact at Stamford Bridge.
And the veteran goalkeeper has admitted that he is looking forward to working under the new man in charge in west London.
Speaking in an interview with Chelsea FC’s website, Green said: “With the new manager coming in, he seems to be a character that has a galvanising effect among players.
“He did great things in Italy and there seem to be good noises coming out of the camp already and with that in combination with the talent that is there already, we can really look forward to an attacking season and hopefully putting on a good show for the fans.”
Chelsea FA ended last season in fifth place in the Premier League table and won the FA Cup under Conte last term.
The Blues will be aiming to be one of the main contenders for the title next season.
